how to learn blender
the fastest way to learn blender is by doing it, not watching. ask out loud in blender and HeyBraza points at the exact button on your own screen, then walks you through it - so every fix below is a rep on your real work, not another video.
36 hands-on fixes & how-tos · every guide below is a hands-on answer you do yourself, with a screen-aware demo.
blender has more ways to go wrong than any other tool on this site, and almost none of them are your fault. a render comes out black because no light exists or the camera points at nothing. materials look right in the shader editor and grey in the viewport, because you are in solid shading. the apply button on a modifier greys out on linked data. booleans cut nothing when normals are flipped, and produce strange shading when they are. objects vanish behind clipping distance. and fbx exports to unity arrive at the wrong scale roughly every time.
the list below is deliberately wide, because blender problems are wide. rendering covers black frames, grain, transparent backgrounds, hdri lighting, animation output and where the saved file goes. materials run from adding one at all to uv unwrapping and glass that will not turn transparent. modifiers cover mirror, boolean, bevel and subdivision, including the greyed-out apply. shading and normals get their own set. viewport and navigation handle disappearing objects, snapping, camera view, lag and clipping. modeling covers loop cuts, extrude, origins, joining, parenting and reference images, with import, export, rigging and add-on pages closing it out.
spoken questions beat searching in a program with this many menus. hold the key while your scene is open, say "why is my render black" the way you would say it to a friend, and HeyBraza looks at the screen right then - your outliner, your shading mode, your render properties. the voice explains, the teal dot marks the tab in the properties editor, and you click through yourself. that is how blender finally becomes navigable: not by watching, but by doing it once with someone pointing.
