blender snapping not working vertices won't snap
HeyBraza points at the magnet icon and the snap-target dropdown so your vertices actually lock together.
trying to snap one vertex onto another and watching it refuse is maddening - and it's usually not that snapping is off, but that the snap mode or 'snap with' setting is wrong. here's how to set it so vertices lock together every time.
or do it yourself
- 1click the magnet icon in the top header to turn snapping on (or just hold ctrl while moving for temporary snapping).
- 2click the small dropdown next to the magnet and set 'snap to' to 'vertex'.
- 3in that same dropdown set 'snap with' to 'closest' or 'active' - 'center' is why a grabbed vertex won't land on the target.
- 4select the vertex, press g to grab, and hover it near the target vertex until it snaps.
- 5if it still won't snap, apply scale first with ctrl+a > scale - a non-uniform object scale can break snapping.

why won't my vertices snap together in blender?
snapping is probably set to 'snap with: center' or the wrong element - set 'snap to' to vertex and 'snap with' to closest or active.
how do i snap without clicking the magnet every time?
hold ctrl while moving (g) for temporary snapping; release ctrl to move freely again.
