blender addon not showing up
HeyBraza points at the install button, the enable checkbox and the sidebar tab where most add-ons actually appear.
installing an add-on does not turn it on - blender adds it to the list and waits for you to tick the checkbox. that missed step, plus a search filter set to 'enabled', explains most missing add-ons.
short answer
installing an add-on doesn't enable it - you have to tick the checkbox next to its name afterwards. if search finds nothing, clear the filters to 'all', and remember many add-ons appear as a tab in the viewport sidebar (press n) rather than in the top menus.
or do it yourself
- 1go to edit > 'preferences' > 'add-ons' and use 'install from disk' (in the dropdown arrow on 4.2 and newer).
- 2pick the .zip exactly as downloaded - don't unzip it first unless the developer says to.
- 3find it with the search box, then tick the checkbox next to its name - installing alone does nothing.
- 4if the search finds nothing, clear the filters (set them to 'all') - a leftover 'enabled' filter hides everything you just added.
- 5then look in the right place: many add-ons appear as a tab in the viewport sidebar (press n), not in the top menus.

let HeyBraza do this with you
HeyBraza teaches you software while you're using it. hold a key and ask out loud - an ai tutor that sees your screen walks you through every step in real time, pointing and highlighting on your real work, talking you through it as it goes - not someone else's tutorial.
downloadcommon questions
i ticked the box and it unticks itself - why?
the add-on isn't compatible with your blender version and errors on load. check the developer's supported versions.
do add-ons survive a blender update?
not automatically - preferences are per-version, so re-install them or copy your old config folder across.
why are my blender addons not showing up after installing?
installing and enabling are two separate steps - the add-on does nothing until you tick the checkbox next to its name. if search can't find it at all, clear the add-on filters to 'all', and remember many add-ons appear as a tab in the viewport sidebar (press n) rather than in the top menus.
