how to learn affinity designer
the fastest way to learn affinity designer is by doing it, not watching. ask out loud in affinity designer and HeyBraza points at the exact button on your own screen, then walks you through it - so every fix below is a rep on your real work, not another video.
9 hands-on fixes & how-tos · every guide below is a hands-on answer you do yourself, with a screen-aware demo.
personas are the first wall in affinity designer. those little icons top-left swap the whole toolset, so people search for a pixel brush inside the designer persona and conclude it does not exist. export is the second wall: slices only exist in the export persona, an svg written at the wrong dpi comes out soft, and a png at 72 looks fine on your monitor and terrible everywhere else. clipping is a third, because dragging a layer onto a thumbnail and dragging it inside a layer produce two different results.
the set below leans hard on those areas. one group explains the persona system and where the pixel tools actually live. the biggest group is export, from slices and svg through to the exports that fail outright or come back blurry and low quality. drawing is covered through the pen tool and adding artboards for multi-size work. layers and masking round it off, with the clipping mask that will not clip and how the layer hierarchy decides it.
swap the reading for doing. with your document open, hold the push-to-talk key and say "i need this logo out as a crisp svg". HeyBraza sees the screen only when you ask, tells you what the export persona is for, and a teal dot moves to the persona icons, then to the slice you need. no click is made for you. you do it once with your own artwork, and the persona model stops feeling like a puzzle and starts feeling obvious.
