affinity designer · HeyBraza shows you
where is pixel persona in affinity
HeyBraza spots that you're in the wrong document type or studio and points at exactly how to reach pixel mode.
the pixel persona is where you paint with raster brushes - but people lose it constantly, either because the new affinity renamed it 'pixel studio' or because the option is hidden when you open the wrong kind of document. here's how to get to pixel mode and why it sometimes isn't there.
short answer
pixel persona is now the 'pixel studio' icon on the studio bar, not a button in the top-right. if it isn't there, enable it in the studio manager ('…') - and note raster tools only exist on a designer/photo document, not a layout one.
or do it yourself
- 1check the studio bar - in the new affinity the pixel persona is now the 'pixel studio' icon, not a button in the top-right corner.
- 2if you don't see it at all, open the studio manager (the three-dots '…' button) and make sure pixel studio is toggled on.
- 3still missing? you may be in a layout/publisher-style document - pixel raster tools only appear on a designer/photo document, so start a new vector document.
- 4click the pixel studio icon - your toolbar swaps to raster brushes, selections and the pixel-editing tools.
- 5to come back to vector drawing, click the vector studio (designer) icon next to it.

why is pixel persona greyed out or gone?
either it's hidden in the studio manager, or your document is a page-layout type that doesn't include raster tools - open a designer document and the pixel studio appears.
