how to export slices in affinity designer

HeyBraza points at the slice studio and the create-slice button so you batch-export every asset in one pass.

exporting one png at a time is the slow way out of affinity designer. the fast way is slices - you mark up each artboard, icon or group once and export them all together at several sizes. this lives in the slice studio (the old 'export persona'), which is hidden until you switch it on. here's the whole flow.

or do it yourself

  1. 1open the studio manager (the '…' three-dots button) and turn on the slice studio if you can't see it.
  2. 2click the slice studio icon to switch into it - your panels change to the export layers and slices panels.
  3. 3in the export layers panel, select your artboards, groups or layers and click 'create slice' so each becomes its own slice.
  4. 4in the slices panel, set the file format and add extra sizes (1x, 2x, 3x) per slice, or pick a preset like an app-icon set.
  5. 5click 'export slices' and choose a folder - every selected slice exports at once.

common questions

can i export slices as svg?

yes for vector content - set the slice's format to svg in the slices panel; raster-only slices (from pixel layers) export best as png.

where is the export persona now?

it's been renamed the slice studio and is off by default - enable it in the studio manager, then it works the same way.
