select your text layer, open the essential graphics panel, and either drag an animation preset onto the clip, or use the transform controls - click the stopwatch next to position, scale or opacity to set a start keyframe, move the playhead, and change the value to set an end keyframe.

- 1with the type tool, click on the program monitor, type your text, then select the text clip.
- 2open window > essential graphics and select your text layer in the edit tab.
- 3for a quick move, drag an animation preset from the effects or essential graphics presets onto the clip (a slide, a fade).
- 4to build your own, click the stopwatch next to position (or scale / opacity) to drop a keyframe, move the playhead forward, and change the value - premiere fills the motion between.
- 5select both keyframes, right-click and choose ease in / ease out so the motion isn't robotic.
