- 2drag 'cross dissolve' onto the cut point between two clips.
- 3if you only want a fade-in, drop it on the very start or end of a single clip.
- 4click the transition and open 'effect controls' to set its duration.
- 5if you see 'insufficient media', trim both clips a little shorter first so each has spare frames to overlap.
