  1. 1press 'c' to grab the razor tool, then click the clip where you want to cut it.
  2. 2press 'v' to return to the selection tool and click the piece you want to remove.
  3. 3press 'shift + delete' (ripple delete) so the gap closes and the rest of the timeline slides left.
  4. 4to trim an end instead of cutting, drag the clip's left or right edge inward.
  5. 5hold the edge and watch the program monitor preview to land the trim exactly on the right frame.
