adobe firefly generative fill not working

- 1in photoshop, make sure you're on a flattened raster layer - generative fill is greyed out on text, smart-object, and vector layers until you rasterize them.
- 2check the document is in rgb / 8-bit: go to image > mode and set rgb color and 8 bits/channel, since other color modes disable the button.
- 3confirm you're signed in to a paid adobe account with generative credits left - a lapsed or credit-empty account silently blocks it.
- 4if it loads forever or says 'something went wrong', sign out and back in, then restart the app to refresh the firefly connection.
- 5still stuck in photoshop beta? roll back to the current release build - the beta often breaks generative fill while the stable version works.
