canva · braza shows you
how to change color of an element in canva
braza tells you instantly whether your element is a photo or a graphic - and shows the right recolour path.
in canva, some elements recolour in one click and others stubbornly won't - and the difference comes down to whether it's a graphic or a photo. once you know which you've got, the fix is simple. here's how to tell, and what to do for each.
or do it yourself
- 1click the element once to select it.
- 2if a colour tile appears in the top toolbar, click it and pick a new colour - that means it's a recolourable graphic.
- 3no colour tile? it's a photo, not a graphic - open 'edit photo' → 'duotone' to tint it instead.
- 4multi-colour graphics show several tiles - change each one separately.
- 5if a graphic still won't change, it's a flat image baked in; swap it for a single-colour element from the 'elements' tab.

why won't my canva element change color?
because it's a photo, not a vector graphic - only graphics with colour tiles recolour; photos need duotone.
