adobe express transparent png white background

exporting a logo or graphic from adobe express and getting a white box behind it is a classic trap. there are two separate things people miss - clearing the page background, then choosing transparent png in the download dialog. here's both, in order.

or do it yourself

  1. 1click anywhere outside the canvas to deselect, then in the left panel open 'background'.
  2. 2set the background to 'no fill' so the page itself is empty.
  3. 3make sure your element floats on top of the canvas - if it's pinned as the background, it bakes in white.
  4. 4click 'download' and choose 'transparent png' as the file type (not plain png).
  5. 5download - the saved file now has no white box behind it.
