webflow changes not showing after publish
HeyBraza watches your screen, spots whether you published to the right domain or just need a cache clear, and points you at the exact fix.
you hit publish in webflow but the live site still shows the old version - old text, old images, old layout. it's almost never a real bug. it's usually the wrong publish target, a stale browser cache, or unsaved staging. here's how to tell which one is yours and force the update.
short answer
saving in the designer publishes nothing - you have to open the publish menu and tick your custom domain, not just the webflow.io staging url. after publishing, check in a private window, because both your browser and webflow's cdn cache pages.
or do it yourself
- 1open the publish menu (top-right rocket icon) and confirm you ticked your custom domain, not just the webflow.io staging url.
- 2click 'publish to selected domains' - saving in the designer does not push anything live on its own.
- 3open your live site in an incognito/private window to bypass your browser cache and see the real published version.
- 4still old? hard-refresh (ctrl/cmd + shift + r) or clear site data for that domain, since webflow's cdn and your browser both cache pages.
- 5if it's a cms item, re-check that the item is set to 'published' (not draft) and republish the whole site.

why does my webflow site still show the old version after i publish?
usually you published to staging instead of your custom domain, or your browser/cdn is serving a cached copy - publish to the right domain, then hard-refresh or open in incognito.
does saving in webflow publish my changes?
no - saving only updates the designer. nothing goes live until you open the publish menu and click publish.
